Some times were slightly slower than expected due to the damp, windy conditions but 20 Harriers completed the course. Although there were no personal bests, we saw excellent Club debut runs over the distance by Denise Bridges, Torstein Skara,our overseas member from Norway, Jake Harrison and Teresa Blackburn. Congratulations to Rachel Masser who took County Championship gold and 2nd in the open race, Bryan Vaughan who finished 1st in both open and County races, James Bolton with 2nd V40 in both competitions whilst Jake Harrison lifted 1st U20 honours. Nicola Leavesley made a welcome return. Woodstock won the men's team competition yet again in open and County whilst our girls were second. Full County results to follow.

Sunday 13th April 2014 - Virgin Money London Marathon
Torstein Skaara our friend from Norway ran an excellent 3:31 and many congratulations to Nadine Sandjo and Sonnie Jane for both completing their first marathon runs in just over the 4 hour mark.

Friday 18th April 2014 - Maidenhead Easter 10-Mile
James Bolton, Brian O'Connor and Dave Cantwell secured 2nd Team honours with James (2nd V40) and Brian running personal bests. James' time was a new V40 Club record. Denise Bridges had a strong debut run for the Club over he distance and Will Hudson also set a personal best mark.

Sunday 4th May 2014 - Conti Lightning 12-hour Relay
An intrepid bunch of Harriers went to Walton-on-Trent to take on a 12-hour relay consisting of 10K laps over an undulating off-road course. The A team consisted of Val Berryman-Bousquet, Liz Ashdowne, Adrian Smith, Alison Blincowe and Zoe White. The B team comprised Dave Cantwell, Denise Bridges, Andre Blincowe, Sonnie Jane and Sue Cantwell.
The A team completed 13 laps in 12:27:13 and the B team 15 laps in 12:03:11. The A team were 8th and the B team 3rd in the Mixed Teams competition. Dave Cantwell ran the fastest lap between 12 noon and 1 pm winning 5 pairs of trainers for his team.
Cary Gray led a group of five Harriers home taking 3rd V50 honours. Teresa Blackburn ran a personal best. Winning time: 34:39 (Men) / 37:35 (Women) Number of finishers: 436

Our men took 1st team on another great night for Woodstock Harriers with Club records for James Bolton in the V40 category and for Rachel Masser in the LV35 group. There were personal bests for James,and Dave Cantwell and debut 5Ks for the Club by Rachel,Dan & Teresa Blackburn,Neil Preddy, Julie Read, and Zoe White.

Men's 3000m
James Bolton finished 3rd overall and 2nd County senior man from 7 starters in a race which combined both Oxon and Bucks Championships

Richard Dunbabin completed an excellent debut Marathon run for the Club comfortably beating the 3:30 barrier. Richard went through half way in 1:33 and, although tiring in the later stages, held on well.

James Bolton went one better than last year with 2nd place and Bryan Vaughan once more took the 1st V60 prize whilst Sophie Carter, running for 1st claim Belgrave Harriers was 1st Senior Lady and second overall in the women's race.
