Bryan Vaughan easily took 1st V60/64 honours running under 30 seconds short of his course personal best

A magnificent effort by Jess Webb gave her overall victory in the women's race securing the County Championship Women's Title. Jess was 10th overall, clocked a personal best by 3 minutes and helped by Denise Bridges & Caeron Phillips secured team County silver. Denise set a new LV45 Club Record and was 3rd LV45 in the Open race and took silver in the County contest.
James Bolton was pleased to return from injury with 3rd place overall and 2nd V40 plus County silver and 1st Open Team with Dave Cantwell, Rob Webster & Jake Harrison. Dave Cantwell took 3rd V40 honours in both Open & County competitions.There was a personal best from Jake by 16 minutes and debut Half Marathon runs for the Club by Rob & Caeron.

Zoe White clocked an excellent personal best by over 2 minutes whilst Ralf Arneil, carrying a shin injury, was disappointed with his time but bravely battled through to finish

Congratulations to Sonnie Jane who broke the 4-hour barrier slicing 14 minutes from his previous best at London 2 years ago.

James Bolton led home our men with overall 6th and 2nd V40 whilst Bryan Vaughan took 2nd V60 honours. Hats off to Sonnie Jane who ran despite completing the London Marathon 4 days previously. Winning time: 21:45 Number of finishers: 218

Bryan Vaughan banged out 3 6-minute 1-mile laps of Cutteslowe to finish 7th overall and 1st V60

James Bolton took overall 2nd place and 1st V40 honours with a marginally slower run than last year whilst Sophie Carter, running for 1st claim club Belgrave comfortably won the women's race. Our men won first team prize.
There were some excellent debut 5K runs from Andy Gleeson, Rob Webster, Ralf Arneil, and Bridget Gould. Zoe White ran exactly the same time as last year.

Rachel Masser represented the County in South Wales in her first ever fell race and described it as the hardest race she had ever done.

Ralf Arneil set a new personal best by over a minute whilst Caeron Phillips completed her second race in 2 days. Andy Pike was first Harrier home and it was good to see Pete Brackett in action again after a long lay-off.Sophie Carter was 2nd overall and 1st LV35 running for Belgrave Harriers.

Hon Life Member Andy Battye crossed the border into Scotland and posted a creditable time and could possibly have been on the podium in his age group but, alas, no V60 prizes.

Jess Webb clocked a personal best with another excellent run whilst Sophie Carter, running for Belgrave, was not far behind. Andy Gleeson ducked under 40 minutes in his debut 10K for the Club and Ralf Arneil sliced 48 seconds from his previous best. Denise Bridges, recovering from injury, put in her usual doughty performance.

James Bolton and Jess Webb took 2nd place honours in the men's & women's race respectively James taking 1st V40 and Jess 1st SL honours. Denise Bridges seems to have shaken off her injury winning the LV45 age category in front of Sarah Kerswell who was 3rd. The evergreen Bryan Vaughan finished 2nd V60. Sophie Carter repeated her win of last year running for 1st claim club Belgrave. Nathan Woodhouse made an excellent Club debut. Winning time: 22:28 (Men)/24:51 (Women) Number of finishers: 317
Saturday 4th June 2016 - Otmoor Challenge (Half Marathon/Multi-Terrain)
Jess Webb won the women's race this year following on from Rachel Masser's victory in 2015. James Bolton ran another very strong race to finish 31 seconds behind the winner in 2nd. Rob Webster took some notable scalps in the V50 category with an excellent 2nd place. Jake Harrison was forced to walk the last couple of miles with a stomach complaint. James Bolton took 1st V40 honours in 7th overall place whilst Bryan Vaughan finished 1st V60 & Jake Harrison 3rd M20 just 3 seconds outside his personal best. Ralf Arneil sliced over a minute from his personal best. Second claimer Steve Naylor was 2nd overall running for Bedford & County. Winning time: 24:39 (Men)/29:10 (Women) Number of finishers: 315
An excellent performance from our 3 men gave us 1st team honours by just 1 point from Cheltenham. James Bolton finished 3rd and 2nd V40, Dave Cantwell improved on his last year's placing with 5th and 1st V45 honours with Rob Webster completing the team in 11th for 2nd V50.
