Steve Naylor made it a hat-trick of wins as he took the County Championship title and also led our men home to 1st place in Divison 2 in the Oxford Mail League. James Bolton, who had a great run for his best ever cross-country placing and Kevin Game took silver in the County senior men's team competition.Our men are 1st in Oxford Mail League Division 2 after 3 events.

Steve Naylor ran as a guest to test himself against some tougher opposition. He changed his usual flat-out start tactics and tucked in behind the leaders until the last 500m when he sprinted home. Winning time: 28:29 Number of finishers: 188
James Bolton comfortably won the race by almost a minute and a half setting a new p.b. as did Dave Cantwell who finished 8th. Kerry Steele and Sue Cantwell did our women proud and it was great to see Bryan Vaughan on the road back to fitness. Colin Travi surprised us all with his excellent debut Half Marathon whilst Kirk Adams just ducked under the 2 hour barrier.With the first 5 to count including at least 1 woman in the team competition we came 3rd. Paul Brackett had a fine run to beat the 3:30 barrier and set himself up for the 50-Mile off-road Thames Trot in 2 weeks's time, where he is hoping to beat his last year's time of 7 hours 32. Winning time: 2:44:51 Number of finishers: 344

Steve Naylor achieved a marvellous 16th place after getting left behind the starting gate barrier when the gun went. He gradually picked off almost 600 people in front of him over the 3-lap 15,000m course, coping with muddy, hilly conditions in the process.MS will be sending words of complaint to the organisers. James Bolton continued his winning ways after last week's Highworth victory with a comfortable win in good but cold conditions. Dave Cantwell held on to third after a tight battle, wife Sue took 3rd LV35 hnours and Sarah Kerswell was 2nd LV45. Our girls won 1st team. James Bolton ran the fastest Half Marathon for a Woodstock Harrier for 5 years despite the wet and windy conditions. James took some notable scalps including British international elite woman athlete Liz Yelling. Peter Rayner, recovering from illness, also had a run out and managed to take Berks County V60 honours. Steve Naylor leads the field
In absolutely horrific underfoot conditions due to heavy rain, Steve Naylor earned a very creditable 42nd place over 180 places in front of the next Oxfordshire runner. Steve led the race early on but the ankle-deep mud did him no favours.Pat Hudson, running for his first claim club, also took part. Winning time: 35:11 Number of finishers: 1,302

Steve Naylor smashed his existing personal best and set a new Club record in coming second to UK International Dan Robinson. James Bolton, carrying a thigh strain, did well to finish 5th whilst Dave Cantwell also put in a gutsy performance. Andy Pike returned to action after illness and Sarah Kerswell,Zazi Barrell & Susan Haines all recorded good times.

Martin Townsend ran for 2 hours 20 before the race in preparation for the Finchley 20-miler next week whilst new girl Jess Webb clocked a fast debut time for the Club. Dean Richens was also pleased with his effort. Winning time: 36:23 Number of finishers: 790

Sophie Carter beat the course record for a woman by over 1 minute whilst James Bolton ran a p.b. for 3rd. Our men took 1st team honours, there were also personal bests for Brian O'Connor, Dave Cantwell, Hans Price and Paul Brackett with good debut runs over the distance for Martin Ineson, Will Hudson & Colin Travi.

Peter Rayner kept up his fine form in the V60 competition as did Peter Sugden who beat his 2009 time by over a minute.Valerie Berryman-Bousquet did well to beat her target time of 2 hours in her debut Half Marathon and Alison Blincowe also completed a debut run for the Club over the distance.
