3 of our winning men's team L to R: Martin, James & Dave
The hot weather took its toll as several targetted times were not achieved. James Bolton went through half way in 1:15:53 and although losing 9 minutes in the second half with a foot problem still clocked a p.b. by nearly 4 minutes. Sophie Carter lost over 20 minutes after the half marathon mark suffering from breathing difficulties. Jessica Webb was inside her target time of 3:45 in her debut run for the Club over the distance; Martin Townsend just failed to beat 3:30 after a recent injury and Peter Sugden beat Peter Rayner in the battle of the 60-year-olds. Rebecca Haines, carrying an injury from the outset, battled through to make sure of her charity sponsorship and Anna Ridout had a good debut effort. It was great to see Huw Warren back in action after a long absence.
