Another excellent attendance with 20 Harriers taking part.
James Bollton was 2nd Senior Man and County Champion, Dave Cantwell 2nd V40 and County V40 Champion and Mike Shipway 1st V70 and County V70 Champion. Brian O'Connor & Mark Pidgeon took 3rd V40 & 3rd V50 County honours respectively. There were personal bests from James Bolton, Dave Cantwell, Will Hudson, Mark Pidgeon, Cyrus Mower, Neil Preddy, Lisa Clarke, Alsion Blincowe and Dean Richens. There were also good debut runs over the 5-mile distance from Simon Joyce, Jake Harrison, Alan Harrison & Kate Bird. Or men won both open & County races.

Sophie Carter ran one second outside her best for the Club in taking 2nd place over an undulating course.Sophie had led early on but was overhauled in the later stages.

Dominic Croft clocked up his second Marathon victory of the year and took his 5th Isle of Wight title since 1996 winning by a staggering 17 minutes. Only 2 finishers beat the 3-hour mark.

Saturday 13th October 2012 - Worcestershire Beacon Race (M/T)
Simon Joyce took on this daunting challenge comprising a 7-mile run to the highest point in the Malverns and back (almost 1400 ft of climbing) in cold and wet conditions all the way. After a good start Simon lost about 40 places on the way down due to frequent stops to demist his glasses so that he could see where he was going.

Three Harriers managed three age category firsts as Sam Cruickshank, Rich Dunbabin & Caeron Phillips all won their respective age groups.

Sophie Carter followed up her marathon victory last week with another win clocking a personal best and setting a new Club record in the process. Howard Williams & Julie Read also ran p.bs and Martin Townsend, preparing for an 84-mile Ultra next month ran to the start from Kidlington and was also pleased with his effort.

A brave effort to win the race by James Bolton fell away in the latter stages as he was caught, firstly at 25 miles and again at just 200 metres from the finish. Dave Cantwell suffered from a sore Achilles later on but pluckily battled through to a personal best and 1st V40 in the County competition. Hans Price also deserves credit for his sub 3-hour run

James Bolton led our men's team home to secure the Oxon Road Race Grand Prix Men's Team title and also cemented his win in the individual competition for the 4th time in 5 years. James took 1st V40 in both Open and County Championships and was well supported by Brian O'Connor and Dave Cantwell who won County silver and bronze respectively. Julie Read was first Woodstock lady home whilst Susan Haines took County silver in the LV55 category. Our men's team of 4 took County bronze. There were personal bests for Howard Williams, Jake Harrison, neil Preddy, Sarah Kerswell. Zoe White, Paula Booth & Dean Richens and debut 10K runs for the Club from Cyrus Mower, Julie Read, Alan Harrison & Kate Bird.
