Thame 10k – 29th June
The popular race on closed roads, attracting an entry of one thousand, was run on a warm Sunday morning. James Bolton was not only first MV50, but finished ahead of the MV40s again. Category winners received a fake-wood trophy in plastic. However, the race t-shirts were well liked.

Mota-vation 3 (Combe I) – 26th June
Good conditions saw 31 Harriers take part, probably a record turnout. The course, the shortest of the series at less than four miles, has a nasty kick upwards with a mile to go. James Bolton was so fast that the chip timing failed to record his time!

Endure 24 – June 7/8th
Billed as the UK’s biggest 24-hour trail race, runners enter solo, in pairs, or in small or large teams of up to 12 members. Over two thousand people took part. Based on Wasing Park, near Reading, participants try to complete as many laps of an undulating 8k trail circuit as possible. The advertising states that payment plans are available across all packages, which gives it a rather “commercial” vibe!

Otmoor Challenge Half Marathon and 10k – June 1st
Described by the organisers as a mixed-terrain half marathon and 10k raising money for local good causes, the race attracts mainly non-affliated runners. Unlike last year, which was one of the wettest underfoot in living memory, the route was dry after a long period of drought. The 10k is increasing in popularity.
