Our aim is to provide a platform for people of all ages and abilities to develop and improve their fitness and running ability in a friendly and sociable environment. We are based in Woodstock, Oxfordshire (map shows location of our usual run starting point at the Town Gate) and welcome members from the town and surrounding villages.

Woodstock Harriers train throughout the year. Please feel free to view our training programme. Come along and join in. All abilities are catered for and all are welcome. The club also runs WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram groups.

Training is fun and training with a group usually makes things easier. We look forward to seeing you soon. Any questions, please do Contact Us.

Cotswold Farm Park (Guiting Power, Gloucestershire) Cross Country

The fourth race in the Oxfordshire XC League series will be at Cotswold Farm Park (GL54 5FL) on Sunday 2nd February 2025. The course resembles a mini-fell race with lovely views of the Cotswolds, when the sun shines.

In addition to Oxon XC League individual and team prizes, the club XC Handicap Competition gives all members a target to aim for. Based on expected performance, the Handicap Competition rewards those that attend all events and over-achieve. But for most, the fun is just taking part, getting muddy and the cakes afterwards!

Research Corner

Does running in the morning benefit your health?

Jonia-Annick Hasler at Cherwell School, Oxford, has a research project concerning how runners of all ages and abilities feel about running in the morning and has designed a short Google form questionnaire to investigate this. Click on the following link that takes less than five minutes to complete.

Perfectionism and Excellencism in sport performance

Hyunsik Kim at York St John University also has a questionnaire as part of doctoral studies, examining personality characteristics, which enhance athletic performance. The aim is to determine if perfectionism is something that makes athletes better at sport after removing the effect of excellencism (this might be a real word!) on performance. It should take 10 minutes to complete.
