Our men packed well at the front of the race with 6 in the first 20. We took both open and Couty men’s team golds. Gillian Howell set a new Club record for a LV45 and Melanie Hawkins had an excellent debut road run for us. There were individual medals in the open race for Carey Gray (3rd V40) and Bryan Vaughan (2nd V50). In the County Championships James Bolton was 2nd Senior Man. James, Kevin Game and Lee Wagstaff all ran pbs. Winning time: 1:11:57 Number of finishers:383

After only 3 hours sleep due to family illness, Jonathan Ashworth went to Suffolk and tackled a hilly course in wintry conditions. This was Jonathan’s third marathon this year to date. Winning time: 2:48:55 Number of finishers: 197.

A great debut marathon by Brian O’Connor brought him home well inside 3 hours for a creditable 5th place. Richard Beaumont, lacking fitness after a long lay-off, ran in the Woodstock vest after rejoining the Club recently.It was good to see Nick Crutch & John Christopher in action again albeit clocking modest times.
